Really nice and cozy restaurant in the cave full of great atmosphere. We met a great service from the moment we arrived, with smiles and passion from the waitress who introduced us to the menu card. Food was brilliant and made from the bottum with love. I will fully recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for something special. Prices was as expected for this standard, not to expensive. Remember to book your table some day’s before, to be sure to get a table.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in an already very lovely village. The location is stunning, it feels like it's straight out of a fairytale. We were very nicely treated, they did their best to find us a window for a last minute reservation do we can enjoy this lovely place. The wine is amazing the food is great also. But the decor and the atmosphere is the strongest point that makes this place so much worth it. I totally recommend it.

Lou Portaou offers a truly unique dining experience in the heart of the medieval village of Bormes-les-Mimosas. Nestled in a picturesque alleyway, the atmosphere here is absolutely charming. The service is warm and wonderful, making you feel right at home. The menu may be limited and the dishes classic, but they are well-prepared and tasty. We come here for the enchanting setting and the delightful service.

Lou Portaou is located in such a beautiful area of Bormes Les mimosas! The waiters are all nice and very helpful, however I was quite disappointed with the food sadly. The goat cheese tian was nice but missing flavors, the fish dish was well presented but very dry. I was quite sad because the restaurant is sooo beautiful and looking forward for nice Provençal food. Will I recommend it to others? Don’t think so… the tapas place next doors is nicer.

Probably the best meal we had in France. The tuna appetizer and fish entrée were particularly good. Service was fantastic and friendly.

The food and service are excellent - really way above par. The setting alone is well worth the slightly premium price. You can sit quietly outside under the tall arches of three intersecting walkways or in a cozy den. Both areas are well-decorated, romantically lit and warmed by space heaters, when necessary. It was an exceptional experience for us that we intend to repeat.
